Welcome to the Closencounters Manga Online. I’m Tsuteru Shiba and this page is for the English version of “Closencounters” manga. Each episode of manga can be read online or downloaded from the links below. You can read all episodes of the English version of manga for free and they are also available in eBook format (PDF), which is ZIP compressed for download purpose.

The story: In year 2114 AD, a boy named Elliot Moonstroke living on the huge orbital colony New Babel meets an alien girl through Galactic Internet and have a date with her. But things get messed up and then he got merged into a rolling snowball of confusion and nonsense!

The whole comic has a number of 54 episodes. With 2 episodes per book of the English version, you can expect 22 books more.
This is the best manga i have read in years. Keep up the good work Shiba
Wow, this is so awesome. It’s as if I’ve taken a time warp step back into the greatest parts, story style and artwork style, of the anime I saw in the early 90’s that got me loving the Genre in the first place. If ever you do publish this on paper in English, I’ll be there with cash in hand!

The style of “Closencounters” comic seems a bit old today, but I’ve started drawing comics and illustrations just at early 90’s. “Closencounters” was published from middle 2000 to early 2002 and I start publishing its online English version in March, 2002.
Anyway, my present style is a bit more different than this and you can take a peek of it viewing some of my online galleries out here. You can find the links to them at the blogroll.
Well I’ll certainly keep an eye out online if you ever decide to sell physical copies of the English version. Keep up the awesome work.

Have you ever thought about bringing this to any of the companies that publish translated manga in the US? Some of them would probably be interested in publishing it, and they’d help with the translating process as well.
I agree clovis15, this is much better than most of the junk we manage to get in the US.
possible errors spotted inepisode 11…
page 12 “are you wanting me” seems a bit weird. but can be dismissed because Mizar/ZeeZee is an extra terrestrial alien.
page 13 you use wants instead of want. which is again dismissible, because of language barrier issues.
page 15 was exceptional you used wants appropriately. Give yourself a pat on the back.
Page 20 ‘How many time are you are you guys’ in here…. it is just not used in either American, Canadian, or European English. I can figure out or puzzle together ” How long have you guys been here!?” or “What are you guys doing here!?”
‘time enough to see all’, suffers from the same problem… I can’t even figure out what that first guy said, I’m guessing something along the lines of ” playing with your girlfriend for all to see.”
but for a reader it’s like saying “Welcome Akari back yard barbecue, Ryoga not pig. That my boyfriend.” it makes sense, but it doesn’t really.
Page 25 is missng the word “been” between You’ve and housing. other than that I’ve got no complaints.

Some time ago a certain publishing house from US have contacted me, but I didn’t like their terms and we haven’t a deal. Maybe in the future.
I know you are busy, but when do you plan to post the next Chapter?
